On the Boston Common with Ron Kaufman

Ron Kaufman explores the history of the Boston Common, founded in 1634 and used as a pasture for grazing cows until the bovines were banned in 1830. Site of harsh and early trials including hangings on old oak trees and a gallows. In more recent years the site of speeches by Martin Luther King, Pope John Paul and Gloria Steinham. And in 2006 the site of a Guinness Book of World Records event, the lighting of 30,128 jack o’ lantern pumpkins simultaneously at the “Life is Good” Pumpkin Festival. Top that!
